Read previewOne of my favorite hidden-gem theme parks is Silver Dollar City, nestled in the Ozark Mountains in Branson, Missouri. Both are owned by Herschend Family Entertainment, though Silver Dollar City opened first in 1960. I've visited theme parks all over the world and this now ranks as one of my favorites. There are also unique attractions at Silver Dollar City that I haven't experienced anywhere else — Grandfather's Mansion was one of my favorites. The food is fantastic and uniqueCarly CaramannaI'm a big foodie — especially at theme parks — and I was happy this park's eats lived up to the hype.

Tyler Starrett was on vacation with his family in Pigeon Forge, about 35 miles from Knoxville in eastern Tennessee, when they learned on Thursday that O.J. Simpson had died. They had heard that one of the key artifacts of the Simpson case happened to be on display nearby at the Alcatraz East Crime Museum: the 1993 white Ford Bronco that Simpson fled from the police in, just days after the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson, his former wife, and Ronald L. Goldman. “If the Bronco is here in Pigeon Forge, why don’t we go see it?” Starrett, 23, said. Pigeon Forge, best known for Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s theme park, is at first glance not an obvious home for such a relic.

I've only seen one sign to Dollywood so far." And while we were actually on the right road, it seemed to illustrate a theme: I'd expected a LOT more Dolly Parton imagery at the park than there actually was. To be sure, it has Dollywood branding throughout (including a lot of images of butterflies, which are beloved by Dolly) and musical performances in various venues at various times. We caught a Dolly Parton singalong, for example. Dollywood feels less about Dolly herself and more about showcasing how her native Tennessee has influenced her and what it has to offer.

Buckle up, cowpoke: On Wednesday, Beyoncé shared the track list for her forthcoming album, “Act ll: Cowboy Carter." There's also mention of “Dolly P” — likely a reference to Dolly Parton — and a track titled “Jolene," a reference to one of Parton's best-known songs. Earlier this month, in an interview with Knox News celebrating the seasonal opening of her amusement park Dollywood, Parton said she thinks Beyoncé has recorded a cover of her 1973 hit. “Well, I think she has,” she said. “I think she’s recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’s probably gonna be on her country album, which I’m very excited about that.”Photos You Should See View All 60 ImagesThe track list also mentions “Smoke Hour Willie Nelson,” but it is not immediately clear if Nelson is involved with the project.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ten of the top albums of the year, as chosen by Associated Press Music Writer Maria Sherman. Instead of embracing the antiquated practice of ranking very different albums against one another, we're celebrating the best next to the best. Leading the charge is Peso Pluma, whose third studio album, “Génesis,” became the highest-charting regional Mexican album of all time. “Hackney Diamonds,” The Rolling StonesPrior to “Hackney Diamonds,” the Rolling Stones hadn’t released an album of original material in 18 years. Representatives for the company declined to comment on its business. In the days after Mr. Buffett’s death, retail and marketing experts said his legacy would continue to lure his fans — known as Parrot Heads, along with their children, called parakeets — and others to his businesses. “It’s definitely a lifestyle associated with him and his personality and his music that he created,” said Barbara Kahn, a professor of marketing at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. But, she said, because his business is “bigger than just that, it could definitely live on.”Mr. Buffett’s original idea for Margaritaville was “to expand the opportunity for as many people to experience the lifestyle immortalized in his iconic song as possible,” according to the statement on the company’s website. The company had $2.2 billion in gross annual revenue last year.

"I'll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song on stage someday, hopefully one I've written." But, Parton said, a few things could convince her to stop working after 60-plus years in the music industry. "As long as I'm able to work, as long as my health is good, and my husband is good," she said. "I have new dreams every day … I've got lots of dreams," Parton said of her future aspirations, noting that she wants to have her own network television show, as well as her own makeup and wig lines. Part of what motivates Parton to keep working, she added, is wanting to see all of her professional goals through to the end.

Emergency dispatchers in a Utah county told local news that they're seeing more accidental 911 calls from skiers. Dispatchers told KSL.com the calls are from Apple devices with a new crash-detection feature. Apple's crash-detection technology sends users a message with an alarm sound if it detects a crash. Even with accidental triggering of the technology, the report highlights that dispatchers still view the crash-detection technology as a positive, and recommend people keep it turned on. The crash-detection feature has also set off accidental 911 calls for users who were riding roller coasters, The Wall Street Journal reported in October.

The Warren County Communications Center, which received the call, gave the Journal six such recordings of unnecessary crash detection calls it received, spurred by rides at Kings Island.
The host, Ryan Villines, is organizing a boycott, encouraging hosts to "snooze" their listings. Like Johnson, many Airbnb hosts and property managers are frustrated by what they describe as the vacation-rental platform's tendency to favor guests in disputes. Liz DeBold Fusco, an Airbnb spokesperson, said the new policy was meant to provide "greater flexibility" to hosts and guests. After outrage from hosts, Airbnb walked back the reimbursement component, but hosts said it's too little, too late. Airbnb host Ryan Villines is "snoozing" his listings in Missouri and Montana as a protest.
